Since we started our blog we really wanted to have a section that we could call “things that make me smile”. But we couldn’t find ourselves with time, inspiration or a theme that would give us that motivation to write about… even though every time (all the time) there’s something that makes us smile or is interesting that we could blog about…until today… After I finished this post I restarted this paragraph to finally announce to myself that now IT IS OFFICIAL, now we have a weekly section that is called “things that make me smile”! lol So.. things that made me smile this week: my nails and the documentary about the military dogs .
Since last week my nails have been breaking in the middle, right in the middle of my finger… I felt like a domino… it started with my thumb and literally went down… lol I didn’t have any finger nails “left”. So, I knew it was time to give myself a break from Shellac… I said before about my “doubts” (doubts because I’m in denial) of the damage shellac after awhile causes to my nails. So, all my nails were super short and I hate it because it seems there’s no nail polish or nail art that would make them look nice.
However, I thought that maybe I could find some ideas for my nails on Pinterest. BTW, I LOVE Pinterest and we have our page there (follow us). No surprises that I found an amazing ideas for short nails. I saw and I pinned from “Nailed it IZ” this converse colorful nail art. They are so cute! Don’t you think?! From the salon where I had them done to the grocery store I got compliments about my nails. I never thought that having nail art on my short nails would turn out so cute! Thanks Nailed it IZ (check it out her blog- amazing art nails) for sharing your idea on Pinterest.
While I was doing my nails I kept think about a news report I watched last sunday on 60 minutes. I already told you that I LOVE this show. Marilyn introduced it to me and told me last Sunday while I was expressing all my love for it that she has been watching this show since she was a kid with her parents. Can you believe that?! I thought that was so cute and meaningful. One of the news stories was about working dogs and some of their capabilities in the military. It was so emotional, especially, if you are a dog lover like we are. Marilyn cried so much! I was in tears to see their handlers put so much trust, put their lives in the dogs. I believe that the only way you can trust someone is if you love them. Can you imagine you in their position? While I am writing this post I am looking at Chloe sleeping with my eyes is in tears… I am so thankful to have Chloe in my life, to have “someone” that teaches me everyday about trust. To finish this post, because I really want you to watch it… I promise that I am not going to tell you anything more… When the dogs died on duty they have the same honor duty as their soldiers. It is so beautiful!! Beijos e Tchau!
