Last week I decided to do my nails very colorfully because it was the end of spring and summer was around the corner with the promise of sunny and bright days. I think that living in a city where it is gray and rains all the time brings the desire to wear color no matter if it is my nail polish, my clothes, my food or even the decor in our house. I just want bright colors around me! It feels so good to challenge myself too… especially for someone like me who is used to wearing plain/dark colors all the time
I chose the turquoise color leaving one single nail to paint in yellow. I posted before about my love for shellac (here). The only think I don’t like about shellac is that you can’t really do any type of “nail art”… Its a basic style!!
Every time when I have my nails done it looks like I am having my first date … I enjoy it so much!! Seems silly but it’s true! Always it’s the same routine when I get home. I show it to Marilyn 300 hundred times… lol (She must have nightmares the night before my nail appointment). Also, don’t ask me to do dishes… hahaha I know that I have Shellac…. but still… I hate to do house cleaning anyway and having my nails done is a great excuse.!
And you know what I hate more is when I tell people that, especially women, they look at me like I am the biggest sinner in the world. I hate that! I hate more that we still have been (or most of us) raised to be the only ones to do the cleaning stuff! I hate more the idea as women, you have to love to do it… if you don’t love it there’s something wrong with you. When a guy doesn’t know how to fix something in the house or fix a car… no problem!! Let’s call the mechanic or a plumbler.. Whoever is necessary! Nobody see it as big deal! Why for women is it different? Whatever reason I don’t care… The same way I don’t care for those who think all women need to enjoy and be a perfect housewife!! I don’t want to hear about it, I don’t want to see those people, I don’t want to argue with them…
To make it short, if it’s possible with me,… I hate to do cleaning… and I am not ashamed of it!! Done!
However, even Marilyn doesn’t believe I do my best here in my house!! And I tell myself it’s in name of the love you are doing the dishes!!
I’ll do it to help her out, because it’s not her favorite thing to do in life either. If a relationship is about sharing… Here we go… lol
This is me every time I see Marilyn doing dishes!! lol
By the way, gay pride is arriving on Sunday in Seattle and we are so excited to go for so many reasons, but there’s one that moves me more. Since last year so many great, good and bad things have happened in our lives but we are still together and strong. I love to be in a relationship where I can be me…no mascara, no lies, nothing is fake.
I couldn’t ask for more…Marilyn is the “one” for all that! She is the biggest supporter I have ever met!!
Beijos e Tchau!
