I have been watching the online documentary called City.Balltet (season 1) and (season 2) non-stop, drinking my wine and having a mix of feelings from goose pumps, smiles on my face to feeling anxiety for these young dreamers that brought tears to my eyes. There’s nothing more inspiring and exciting for me than to watch, hear or speak to people that have a dream and work very very hard to accomplish it. This is what happened watching this amazing documentary narrated by Sarah Jessica Parker about New York City Ballet. Every episode lasts about 6 to 8 minutes and it shows the “behind-the-scenes” of this fascinating and exhausting life that the professional dancers experience daily.
I have the tendency to think that if you are talented the “success” will come your way very easily and if you don’t have it you can’t achieve it until you work way harder than the talented one. However, this documentary shows that it’s not always like that!! Even the most talented dancer is daunted by their unknown future, by the limits of their body and how to survive and be mentaly healthy with all this pressure.
I LOVED this documentary! I was so moved by their discipline, work, pain and motivation.
One of my favorite episodes!
