We are trying to learn more about cheese in general (here). A couple of weeks ago we bought again this cheese called La Tur. La Tur is a mix of milk cheeses from the Piedmont region in Italy. The mix of goat, cow and sheep’s milk are blended together in this cheese, although goat usually seems to be the dominant flavor. La Tur has a soft rind and is the type of cheese that needs to be served with a baguette or crackers, as this extremely creamy (delicious) soft cheese needs something to be spread on.
We are obsessed with this cheese. Every time we bought La Tur we “killed” it in minutes along with our bubbles. It’s one of the best cheeses I’ve ever had. It is not easy to find it here in Seattle, so every time we find it we make sure to buy it. Last time that we bought it at Metropolitan Market.
The last time we had this cheese we served it with an AMAZING Viognier, 2011!! We wish we could freeze that moment for awhile! lol
