Of course we love our summer drinks! For us that live in Seattle especially, we have long periods of cold months having wine as our best companion during this time. Ludmilla introduced me to cachaça which has given us s0 many ideas as to how to use this great Brazilian liquor to create different cocktails!! In Brazil, they of course use cachaca in so many different ways…we ate at a restaurant where they had more than 100 different brands of cachaca……it was amazing…so here is a couple of different ways we made drinks here at home with Novo Fogo cachaca this summer….let us know what you think!!!
3 BERRY CAIPIRINHA
We used raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, sugar and cachaça. Muddle the fruits with sugar, add ice and pour cachaça. It’s a delicious and very colorful drink! Just be careful with the amount of sugar when you make it with sweet fruits!
The process to make this caipirinha is the same as the regular one ! (here)

How sad is that face after moms said no no no! awwwww!!
PASSION FRUIT CAIPIRINHA
In Brazil it is very common to have passion fruit caipirinha because it’s super easy and passion fruit is cheap there! However, passion fruit here in the USA is so hard to find and when you find it it’s so expensive!! That’s why Marilyn was so happy when she opened the box and saw fresh passion fruit! (If you want to see the video we made check our Instagram page) If you have a chance to try this fruit, try it!! It’s so good!! We bought these at Amazon (here)!
The process is the same: passion fruit juice and seeds, sugar, cachaça and muddle for about 40 second to mix everything!!
We never saw this while we were in Brazil, caipirinha made with watermelon. We both love watermelon and we thought why not to try it to make a caipirinha! We loved it!! I used my cute watermelon bowl that I am so in love with! Always leave bowls with fresh fruits on the table! Some people like me enjoy more fruity and sweet drinks. Marilyn likes less sweet and she loves the taste of the cachaça!
There’s something about a caipirinha we love so much: fresh fruits!! Besides having a great cachaça it’s so important to use fresh fruit. It’s the refreshing feeling it gives you. You will understand why the caipirinha is known as a refreshing summer drink. Once you start making drinks with fresh fruits you will get addicted! More and more we are all about fresh ingredients to make drinks or food. It’s more flavorful, healthier and great for you!
Have a great weekend!! We will see you on Monday!!
Beijos e Tchau!
