Last week the World Cup began in Brazil and it brought so many memories of my childhood and while I was living there. I am not crazy about football/soccer (whatever you wanna call it), but during the tournament I became a passionate, very curious about the games, excited with the scores, loving to watch all the commercials on TV and of course I love to cheer for Bras(z)il and some of my friend’s countries and for my USA too. Every time I see little boys in the stadium watching Brazilian games I get chills and I will tell you why. I remember when I was little and Brazil was playing against Argentina (of course! lol) and lost the game during the World Cup ( I believe it was…) . The game was over and I remember looking at my brothers and they had this very sad face, the entire house was in silence and the only thing I wanted was to go outside to play with my friends. For me, at the time, it didn’t make any sense… all that sadness because Brazil lost a tournament. Finally, when I left my house to play outside with my friends I saw a couple of boys sitting on thet curbside crying their eyes out and I was so shocked to see them crying that I still remember that day like it happened yesterday. That day I understood that boys can cry and they can cry for football. Definitely, soccer is a big deal in Brazil, it means a lot for many Brazilians and I CAN’T WAIT TO SCREAM: BRAZIL ARE THE CHAMPIONS!! Have a great week!
