I love chicken in all different ways, baked, boiled, fried… but it needs to be flavorful!! I love the combination of sweet and salty in the same dish and we found it in this delicious baked chicken. We have been trying different ingredients and amounts for awhile when today we think we found the perfect combinations. Make sure to serve this chicken with a soup spoon because the smoky and sweet broth is to die for!!! So far, this chicken with dates dish has been one of my favorites…
8 ea. boneless chicken thighs
2 cups pitted dates
1 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 cup dry white wine
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons of hot sauce (we used Franks)
1 tablespoon salt
5 cloves garlic, mashed
Preheat oven to 400F.
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl until well combined. Place thighs, skin side up, in a 13×9 baking dish.
Pour remaining ingredients over the top and place into the oven. Cook, uncovered for 30 minutes, then increase oven temperature to 450F. and continue baking for 10 minutes until skin is golden brown.
Serve in a bowl with lots of the delicious broth!
We had this delicious chardonnay and was perfect combination!!
