As you know eggs are something very “new” in my life! It is surprising and unbelievable to see myself eating them and really enjoying them. Usually my breakfast is scrambled eggs with all sorts of veggies but sometimes I really miss a piece of bread. For me, until I met Ms. American, bagels weren’t in my bread category… lol. When I first came to the US and I ate a bagel with cream cheese and I was chewing for hours (I felt like that + brazilian drama) I didn’t feel it to be very tasty, especially for me who is so used to having a fresh baguette kinda type of bread.
I went years without looking at a bagel until I had one from Panera Bread. By the way, I really like this place for breakfast and a quick lunch. I remember that I had a cinnamon crunch bagel with sweet cream cheese and I loved it. It’s so interesting to see how my palate has changed over the years.
So, when my friends were here we really wanted to provide them as much as we could an American life style. At least “our” American lifestyle! When we made this american breakfast/brunch for them (we made a video on Instagram before) we added kale chips.
They never had either of these foods before! By the way, I had kale chips a few months ago and I love them. You know when you need something crunchy to eat along with your soup, salad or sandwich? It’s a perfect combination: low calories and healthy!
It’s super easy to make! Just whisk together your eggs, seasoning, and a little milk…then add them to a greased baking pan and bake the eggs until they set. Cut the eggs into the size of your choice and add them to your sandwich! For the kale chips its even easier!!
Strip the large kale leaves off of the stem and put them into a bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and salt and bake at 350° on a baking sheet until crispy. Done!!!!
Have a great weekend!
Beijos e Tchau!!
