I have seen more and more looks with two items that I never thought would go together and I am so in love with: baseball hats and heels!
I think baseball hats are a super an American thing! It is so rare seeing women in a different country wearing them as often as we see here. In Brazil we used to joke around that people who wear baseball hats are… ( I don’t know the name…years ago when we used to have someone to fuel gas in the car). All gas station employees used to wear them… so I associated baseball hats with the gas station guys!! So, this is was my first bad association with the baseball hat.
So it wasn’t enough that I had to have a second bad experience… lol The second bad association happened when I moved to the U.S. and all or most of the fast food places here had employees wearing them! lol And I worked in fast food places before… So, I felt at the same time I was the gas station guy plus the fast food employee… My friend, there’s no money in the world that would make me wear baseball hats. lol Life is funny!!
As you know life makes us change… The first photo that Marilyn sent to me from her…guess what she was wearing?????? Oh yes, a blue baseball hat!! So funny, don’t you think?! More funny than that was, I thought she was looking super hot!!
Since then my mind and my heart started been more open for the “American thing”!! I started noticing cute colors, more girly colors and different styles…Marilyn has lots of them…. But what really touched my heart and made my eyes shine was when I saw the combination of hats and heels.
The whole look is so effortless!! And I LOVE THAT!! It’s casual and comfortable, but completely chic and sexy at the same time. Baseball hats and heels are the perfect fusion! This combo for me became a fashion statement!!
I believe that our badgal Rihanna has her contribution for this trend!!
There are so many looks from her wearing both.
Not long ago, in London last week, she arrived for her Diamonds World Tour (BTW we went and we LOVED it) wearing a chic baseball cap in a cute black dress and simple white converse (it is a good option for those who don’t wear heels).
Some inspiration I found through the internet and some my favorite bloggers!
My favorite: CTRL C + PASTE this look! The Blonde Salad blog by Chiara Ferragni !!
